Meet The Team

Paul B. Tan, DMD

Dr. Tan provides the highest level of comprehensive and compassionate dental care to each patient. His practice utilizes the latest in dental technology in order to deliver treatment in the most comfortable, gentle, safe, and efficient manner.

After graduating in 1989 with honors from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, Dr. Tan completed a prestigious VA/Stanford hospital residency in Palo Alto where he served as the program’s first chief resident during the second year while treating medically compromised patients.

Dr. Tan started and built his current practice since 1992 and his office has been located in the landmark, Art Deco Shell Building @100 Bush Street in the heart of the San Francisco financial district for the past twenty three years.

In addition to the art of practicing dentistry, Dr. Tan takes great pride as a community leader serving as a former board member for the SF LGBT Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation. He enjoys cultural events, nature hikes, gardening, and spending time with his two adorable young dogs, Rupert and Dahlia.

I've been working with Dr. Tan for over thirty years now and it has been a wonderful experience. My role as a registered dental assistant allows me to interact with patients on a personal level to ensure they achieve their optimal dental health. I enjoy working with the rest of the amazing team members in providing comprehensive dental care. Dr Tan and I are passionate about our work and hope to have the opportunity to see you soon!

In my free time I enjoy cooking, reading mystery novels, taking hikes and long walks in the park. I'm proud to have raised two great adult sons and grew up in San Francisco after my family came from Puerto Rico when I was young.

I'm thrilled to pursue my passion as a dedicated dental hygienist, to provide exceptional oral care while promoting overall wellness through preventive dentistry. As a native of Georgia, I graduated with honors and earned my Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Clayton State University. I enjoy meeting new people and establishing genuine connections
with patients to deliver compassionate dental care. It's important to empower patients with knowledge and resources needed to maintain healthy smiles.

Outside of the dental practice, I enjoy exploring different restaurants, boba and coffee shops, and many outdoor adventures in parks that San Francisco has to offer since I'm a recent transplant. At home I can be found either cooking comforting home meals or playing video games.

I'm very pleased to join Dr. Tan's dental team as business manager who coordinates scheduling appointments and developing treatment plans among my primary responsibilities in helping our patients.

As a native San Franciscan, I have over fifteen years experience in the dental field and completed a degree in marketing at San Francisco State University. I'm the proud mother of two beautiful young daughters and enjoy reading and taking scenic walks in my spare time.
